Chocolate Martini

Day 312. A liquid served cold in a triangular vessel. Its primary effect is an increase in the frequency of laughter among Earth specimens. I consumed two for research purposes and have no regrets.

TIME · 5 minYIELDS · 1 cocktailDIFFICULTY · lowJOY OUTPUT · 99%

§ PROCEDURE

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker generously with ice.
  2. Add 2 oz vodka, 1 oz chocolate liqueur, and 1 oz Irish cream.
  3. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty cold.
  4. Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a Maraschino cherry.

§ OBSERVED RESULT

The liquid is dark brown and perfectly smooth after straining, with a faint foam at the surface that settles within seconds. Earth specimens report an immediate improvement in perceived quality of life. The Maraschino cherry sinks to the bottom of the glass and is consumed last — a small ritual I have begun to replicate.

FIELD NOTEChill the martini glass in the freezer for a few minutes before serving — a cold glass keeps the cocktail at peak temperature longer. For a richer version, add a splash of heavy cream alongside the other ingredients before shaking.

HYPOTHESIS CONFIRMED

The chocolate martini is good.
